Sotomayor, who was born and raised in the Bronx, will preside over arguments by eighth grade students at the Bronx County Courthouse, 851 Grand Concourse, at 1 p.m.

This year’s eighth graders will argue a robbery under an accomplice liability theory, while seventh graders will argue a homicide case with a self-defense scenario.

About 1,000 students from 31 schools in the Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and Westchester County are participating.

The mock trial program was founded in 1997 by Acting Bronx Supreme Court Justice Elizabeth A. Taylor for public and private middle school students.
