Hi Lone. I asked a similiar question a few months ago and some touchy ‘accept Jesus or burn in hell people’ had it deleted. So I’ll repost it again as an answer.
Could a God of Love, who created all things, create a place of fiery torment?
Jehovah’s witnesses had put the hoses on hell well over a century ago.
It all comes down to some very basic fundamentals, ie logic.
How does the God of love feel about hell?
How can a God of love, who created all things, create a place of fiery torment, a place designed to torture people with fire for eternity?
How can a God of justice, sentence people to be tortured for eternity over a mere 70 yrs of sin? A little bit too harsh don’t you think? Heb 2:2.
The Bible shows the the ‘Hellfire’ teaching contradicts Jehovah’s personality. "And they have built the high places of To´pheth, which is in the valley of the son of Hin´nom, in order to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, a thing that I had not commanded and that had not come up into my heart.’ " Jer. 7:31.
Torturing people is a demonic act and sadly church leaders often reflect this attitude. When speaking to the clergy of his day Jesus said .."YOU are from YOUR father the Devil, and YOU wish to do the desires of YOUR father. That one was a manslayer when he began, and he did not stand fast in the truth, because truth is not in him. When he speaks the lie, he speaks according to his own disposition, because he is a liar and the father of [the lie]." John. 8:44.
How many times have people been burnt alive at the stake for translating or merely possesing a bible? Many!
Anyone who finds the idea of ‘Hellfire’ attractive or an appropriate punishment are also displaying that same "disposition"!

Well I know it’s not exactly "normal" for anything to swell. But I went straight from an average earing size to a 14g. I gave it about a week and it was completely healed. Today I stretched them to a 12g and it’s swollen. No puss or blood coming out. It isn’t red or anything. Just swollen and a little sore. Is it OK or should I worry about it? Is the soreness "normal" too? Also what should I do to help the swelling go down? Thanks.
That’s completely normal. My ears give me trouble when they swell. Just be sure to take it easy and not to gauge them so fast like your doing now. When you start getting to bigger sizes it can blow your ear out causing them to be wrinkled. You need to wait at least a month before going to the next size. This time gives your ears to adjust to the new size and will make it easier for you to gauge again which will reduce the swelling your experiencing. I know a month is a long time to wait, but trust me in the end you’ll be thankful.
I’m curious, if no eternal afterlife or Heaven (or Hell) were offered, would you still worship God? Even nix the brownie points? Nothing you do on Earth would matter in the long run, at least not to God, so would you still worship him?
No, of course not. I became a Christian because He promised me eternal life. However, now I serve Him because I love Him as I got to know Him. Sorry, I’m selfish that way.
I’m thinking about naming my first child Faith.
